The Triangle Brass Band opens its 2021 – 22 Season at Bond Park with a variety of popular music from Big Band, the Beatles, Broadway and the Movies. We will also feature Zeb Jewell-Alibhai, local young jazz artist and a winner in our Virtual Music Competition held during the Pandemic.

Zeb Jewell-Alibhai, 16, is a junior at Durham Academy High School in Durham, North Carolina. As a young child in Portugal, he began playing classical saxophone at age six, but focused on jazz after he came to the United States. Zeb began playing trumpet at age 9, and is the recipient of the International Trumpet Guild’s Sandy Sandberg Memorial Fund Scholarship in 2021. Additionally, Zeb was Gerry and Franca Mulligan Foundation’s “Gerry’s Jazz Challenge” scholarship winner and selected as a winner in Jazz by the National YoungArts Foundation. This year, he will perform with the Next Generation Jazz Orchestra at the Monterey Jazz Festival.
