VIRTUAL MUSIC COMPETITION

During this time of shut down, the Triangle Brass Band is hosting a solo and ensemble virtual music competition! We are accepting video submissions of musical performances recorded and performed LIVE. Any instrument is eligible to enter. You can enter solo, or partner up with others. Ensembles must not exceed five players. There are no restrictions for instrumentation, and accompaniment is not required.

The competition is divided into two divisions.

Student Division: Anyone 17 years of age or younger at the time of submission is eligible for this division.

Open Division: Anyone at or over the age of 18 at the time of submission is eligible for this division.

Prizes will be offered for placements in each division.

  • First Place: $300
  • Second Place: $200
  • Third Place: $100

Also, all entries will be considered for a performance on a future Triangle Brass Band concert when in-person performances safely resume. A preliminary round will be adjudicated by professional musicians with the expertise to provide feedback for each entry, and the final round will include review by the TBB Artistic Director Tony Granados. Written feedback from an adjudicator will be provided to every entrant.

To enter the virtual competition:

  • Record a LIVE, unedited video of your performance between October 15, 2020 and February 15, 2021.
  • Make sure your video is no longer than 10 minutes.
  • Upload your video to YouTube, Vimeo, or other video hosting platform
  • Complete our online competition submission form below, and include the $50 entry fee

If you have any questions, contact Tony Granados at director@trianglebrass.org.
